We’re all excited about FM21, there is no denying that. However, those that are waiting might still be looking for a stop-gap save to cover the time between now and the release of FM21. In this post, we’ll make some recommendations on teams to manage on FM20 before FM21 is released.

Inter Miami

Fast forward to March 2020, the official date David Beckham’s new side will join Major League Soccer. Both Higuain brothers are part of this team alongside midfield powerhouse Blaise Matuidi. Give it a few seasons as well, and you’ll have a brand spanking new dugout to preside over, with the Miami Freedom Park set to be unveiled in 2022. You’ll have to grasp the registration complicated rules of the MLS but this could be a save where you could take over the MLS with the long term aim of continental success in various competitions including the CONCACAF Champions League.

FC Andorra

A very interesting project. The Andorran club competes in Segunda Division B, the third tier of Spanish football, after they paid a considerable price to replace CF Reus Deportiu, who were relegated to the Tercera Division for failing to pay its players. The club is owned by Gerard Pique. It would be a monumental task to guide Els Tricolors to La Liga, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility. Do you have what it takes to guide FC Andorra to the top tier of Spanish football where it could be possible to face the club’s owner on the pitch!?

AS Roma

History speaks well for AS Roma. AS Roma were truly one of the big guns in Serie A. However, an influx of money to other clubs and the repeated success of Juventus have pushed I Giallorossi to the wayside. The team might not have the funds to battle with Juventus or Inter, but they do have some youngsters that the team could be built around. This will have to be a longterm save as it could take a while to get the team where you need it to be. However, with the right tactics and moves in the transfer market AS Roma could be guided back to being the teams they once were.

R.S.C. Anderlecht

Do you fancy developing youth in Belgium? Former Belgian First Division A champions, Anderlecht, in that vein, success hasn’t been a common theme. Usually, a favourite each season, the rise of teams like Standard Liege and KAA Gent have made it far more difficult for them. Down the years, Anderlecht has had plenty of wonderkids to develop a worthy team to challenge for titles in the top tier of Belgium. Noteworthy players on FM20 include Yari Verschaeren and Marco Kana who can be developed into top players on the game.

Indian Arrows

Shout out to Keg Man for this one - watch his recent 5 hardest teams to manage in Football Manager (

). From Goa in India, they play Hero I-League, the top tier of Indian football. Formally known as Pailan Arrows, the club was disbanded due to the club’s sponsor being unable to financially support the team. Indian Arrows was rebuilt by the All India Football Federation giving young Indian players a chance follow India successfully hosting the U17 FIFA World Cup. What makes managing the Indian Arrows interesting is the registration rules of the Hero I-League allowing for 5 non-Indian players. However, the Indian Arrows have a transfer policy that does not allow non-Indian players to be registered. Naturally, this makes managing in the Hero I-League very challenging with other teams attracting talented foreign imports.
